Gerchem’s Tryst with Chemistry began in 1999 with Chiral Binaphthol and Diphenylprolinol compounds in technical collaboration with Prof. Mariappan Periasamy of the Central University of Hyderabad, Senior Professor of Chemistry, S.S. Bhatnagar and J.C. Bose awardee, also post-doc. with the Nobel Laureate Prof. H.C. Brown of Purdue University. His very encouraging and supporting guidance led to the very expensive compounds being at once made available at very economic prices to the scientific community in India across various Institutes and Universities, further adding Taddol, Diaminobinaphthalene and several ligands on the way, a humble service acknowledged by many kind and inspiring scientists.
